DOCTORS OFFICE
The other day when I was at the doctor’s office, I had a realization. It seems that today, in this day and age, everything is on computers. Some businesses completely shut down when their technology fails. The doctor’s office, however, is not one of those places. Each and every one of the patient’s files are kept on paper, and written in pen. One would think that they would at least need to have offsite data storage. That way if anything ever happened to the building, heaven forbid, they would at least still have all of the patient files. I realize that many doctor’s offices must keep all their files in fire safe cabinets, but I do not know if all of them do. I would have to assume that it would be a horrible inconvenience, and in the worst cases, medical emergencies. If someone were to have a medical problem away from their regular physician, it would be a big problem if they did not have access to their medical files. Maybe if it does not already exist, I should create a computer database program for doctors to be able to store patient information. That could be my million-dollar idea.
